Aims

  1. Facilitate onboarding in a short time.
  1. Motivate use to aid sharing of research.
  1. Incentivise reflective practice.

Objectives

Do

Created Pages

A set of Pages, Page Tags, Reading and an Onboarding Activities.

Study

Onboarding and Gamification

The design of a sequence of activities for onboarding reminds me of how games lead players through a sequence of tiny steps, introducing game mechanics and a narrative.

Is the narrative distracting, confusing?

How might this be improved?

Structure

I created and deleted a lot of preparatory structure that was overcomplicating the process of onboarding.

Consider the aims:

Facilitate onboarding. FACILE: make it easy. Keep it simple!

Act

Follow the PDSA Cycle.

I didn't initially! I got lost in detail, thinking about affordances for the future.

I didn't adhere to aims, and ended up deleting superfluous structure.
