My ten-year experience as a Warehouse manager required that I coordinate with teams from sister companies and branch networks, bulk buyers and the export department. The role required that I coordinate with key personnel in these organizations to execute timely and accurate order fulfilment at the highest standards. As part of the GM100 initiative, a group of us worked together to form the idea of 'Bee A Volunteer' being based in Manchester. The idea was that it would be a directory for the public and businesses to volunteer at environmentally based charities and earn qualifications for the work place, there was also inclusion of the homeless too. Tackling issues such as unemployment, the environment and education all in one scheme. This task involved working as a team over several days to then present an idea in front of a panel of environmental leaders in their own sectors.

I am a mature student who has a huge amount of experience of various industries from fitness to conservation. Working with a multidisciplinary team is an important aspect of developing your skills and seeing a project from many different angles. Having been involved in the Language for All project, we were a project from many different schools and vocations that had a clear goal of bringing the passion for language into schools. By the team coming from a variety of backgrounds, we were able to infuse school children with the concept that no matter who you are or what you study, learning a second language is possible for all.

I have participated multiple times to both the Module UN and the GCMUNER, which involves debating and finding solutions to real life problems in a committee of delegates representing countries, eg FAO, UNHCR, WFP… I think that this could be relevant to working in a team because during the conference, I had to team up and discuss with other countries to form allies and write a resolution. I am looking forward to participating in this event because I think it will better my scientific and presentation skills.

I worked for an education company as a storyteller, giving English-learning workshops to children (6–16) in different schools across Italy. I previously worked in a research project where two members of the team were ocean modellers but with little experience in Phyton and we needed a code to translate our founding from Linux to Phyton. We got in touch with another member of the staff that had previous experience with it and he thought me how to use his code. I am heavily invested in projects I take an interest in. I enjoy doing research into niche subjects and finding unique solutions to a problem. I have been involved in a number of team-orientated roles, such as my volunteering work in a stable focused on helping disabled children learn to ride. At the start of each day, we would go over which children we would be caring for that day and assign everyone roles according to what would be best for each child. My name is Cinthya Luna and I am a neuropsychology student. When I was 14 my parents decided that it was a good idea to send me off to Germany. I spent 7 years of my development there where I not only had to develop my language skills but also open my mind to how others think. After spending so much time on my own through my development i understood how powerful building a community is. Building a community is about accepting, making space and learning to value others who might think differently. Working with a multidisciplinary team is crucial for experiencing a sense of belonging but also develop ones knowledge through the lenses of others.

I worked as a sales advisor for Scottish Power and Talktalk over the summer. This job involved talking to hundreds of people a day and gathering information and deciding on a product which best suited them. Since 2018 I have been volunteering with an NGO, this NGO is a school for underprivileged kids. We have been teaching them science by using different teaching techniques, such as drama and art activities. During covid we also raised a fundraiser to help provide the technology for the kids to attend online classes. I volunteer with two of my friends, one is studying law and the other is studying biophysics. By working in a multidisciplinary team we were able to combine different skills to achieve the best possible outcome.

Theatre is one of my hobbies - teamwork is at the heart of it. It is vital to communicate with each other to put on successful shows, to understand each other's strengths and weaknesses and to play into them, and to ensure everyone is confident in what their task is and assured they can ask for help or clarifications. I have helped direct groups within a show, talking to each individual (actor, stagehand, lighting, or otherwise) about their ideas or concerns, as well as be support to those anxious before a first performance.
