Service Name meta

Well, we have all of that and more in BUILT, Bangor University Innovation Leadership Team Awards.

Personal Introduction and credibility meta

My name is Kailesh Karavadra, and I studied engineering at Bangor University and have worked in Silicon Valley for many, many years.

The Challenge meta

My biggest learning has been that the pace of change in jobs, careers, and skills in demand are changing in months, not years.

The Opportunity meta

BUILT is an experiential learning program that will allow you to work in teams of students from other schools at the university and all other different types of backgrounds to learn design thinking, how to be agile, developing an entrepreneurial mindset, and get a feel for what it's like working in a startup environment.

Who can Participate? meta

This is all applicable whether you are in business, sports, music, arts, or philosophy.

How will you Participate? meta

There is structured and free-flow mentoring and learning starting in January 2020 for culminating in a finals presentation in front of an independent judging panel where winners will be selected and prizes awarded.

Why should you participate: skills, and if you win we will help you create a startup. meta

We have the ability to connect your idea with the investment community if needed further. You'll experience skills such as teaming, presenting, design thinking, failing, and starting over again, developing an entrepreneurial mindset, how to work in a fast-paced environment, and these are the skills that are really relevant in today's working world.

Motivation and alignment: change in working practice - AI, for example. meta

We want you to open your mind and warm you up for what is happening today in the world. Take, for example, AI, artificial intelligence. Just six months ago, it was a great concept CEOs were thinking of. Today, where AI is being deployed in almost all aspects of the working world in a very short period of time.

What do you need to do? meta

So how do you engage and how do you take advantage of this opportunity? Just raise your hand and sign up and we'll do all the rest. Our pilot last year had incredibly positive feedback and we are now scaling to make this available to you, all the students. So this is your opportunity. Don't let it go and engage now. You'll have fun, you'll learn a lot, and increase your chances of employability. We really hope to see you, so please take advantage of this. Take care and talk to you soon. Thank you.
